What the Talkies Told Me

These trailers for nonexistent films have been written in the specific language of blockbuster-films. They consist of certain taglines to wet the appetite and make people imagine the pleasures that lay in store for them when they enter the movie theater. I wanted to make these sound-images without having them refer to anything in specific. They seem to fall in certain genres typical for blockbusters: comedy, action, thriller, horror and science-fiction, but they do not refer to any main character in specific. I wanted to make them blueprints for fantasies, a menu for people to pick amongst very clichéed genrefilms. Meanwhile it is also a commentary on how similar Hollywood films are becoming.
